Construction Building With CE Approved Prefabricated Steel Structure Workshop Warehouse MOT Station Steel Building
The brief-For this MOT station steel building, David Brooks the owner of Massey Truck needed a large workshop and vehicle testing / inspection area.
The building would need to accommodate an inspection pit, which was to be installed by specialists. Large access doors would be required at each gable end for lorry access. An internal partition wall was required to separate the inspection and main workshop areas.
Planning permission for this steel framed building would also need to be obtained by DPL prior to work starting. Building control services would need to be arranged to ensure full sign off at the end of the project.
We started on site with the concrete pad foundations at each column base, we also installed the required drainage downpipes and storm water solution. The foundations were built for the inspection pit area, which also required encasing in concrete once it had been installed.
The building was a non-heated, non-load bearing cold rolled galvanised frame with single skin cladding for the roof and walls. The roof was supplied with an anti-condensation liner to reduce condensation forming on the roof and to prevent drips.
The internal partition wall was erected with a 40mm composite sheet material, this was to reduce the sound level between the two units.
