Austenitic (duplex) stainless steel 2507 melting point and density, solid solution and solid state properties
2507 is a ferritic-austenitic (duplex) stainless steel with excellent resistance to point corrosion, crevice corrosion and uniform corrosion
The crack oxidation behavior of 2507 duplex stainless steel and its mechanism are discussed. The oxidation experiments and characterization of the samples were carried out by electrochemical method and SEM. The results show that the oxidation behavior of cracks of 2507 duplex stainless steel is different at different temperatures and atmospheres. When the temperature is high, the oxide will form large pores inside the crack, leading to the expansion and deformation of the crack.
Mechanical property
Tensile strength δb/MPa: 800-1000
Yield strength δ0.2/MPa: ≥550
Elongation δ5/% : ≥25
Hardness (HV) : 290
2507 duplex stainless steel is a kind of high strength, high corrosion resistance material, widely used in Marine industry, chemical industry, energy and other fields. However, in the process of use, due to the long-term effect of mechanical stress and environmental atmosphere, cracks in stainless steel will gradually expand and seriously affect the performance of the material. Therefore, it is very important to study the crack behavior and explore the oxidation mechanism of the crack for improving the corrosion resistance and prolonging the service life of the material.
