What is the difference between low alloy plate and ordinary plate?
1. Different ingredients
There are differences in composition between low alloy plates and ordinary plates. Common steel plates refer to ordinary steel plates without special requirements. Their main components are carbon, silicon, manganese, sulfur, phosphorus and other elements, while low alloy plates also add a small amount of chromium, molybdenum, cobalt, nickel and other alloying elements. Since these alloy elements are added to the low alloy plate, its oxidation resistance and wear resistance will be better than that of the ordinary plate.
2. Different mechanical properties
The mechanical properties of low alloy plates and ordinary plates are also different. Low alloy plates have better properties in terms of strength, hardness, toughness and corrosion resistance. The ordinary plate is relatively brittle, and its mechanical properties are relatively lower than that of the low alloy plate.
3. Different uses
Low alloy plates are more versatile due to their superior properties. Low alloy plates are often used to manufacture large machinery, ships, bridges and other building structures; while ordinary steel plates are mostly used in construction, manufacturing, processing and other fields.
4. Different prices
Since low-alloy plates are superior to ordinary plates in terms of composition and performance, their prices are relatively expensive. Common boards are relatively cheap and suitable for some low-cost projects.
In short, there are differences between low alloy plates and ordinary plates in terms of composition, mechanical properties, uses and prices. The choice should be made based on specific project needs and budget.
