Cobra Engineering wanted to create an outside shelter to cover a new piece of plant at a food manufacturing and distribution factory. Cobra was undertaking the installation for the end client not for their own site.
The key requirement was that the plant needed to be open and accessible on one side but closed on the other three sides. The building had to be constructed in a way that could accommodate the equipment being installed at a later date.
In order to establish the appropriate solution, the client looked at various design options and design schemes before making a final choice. We were tasked with supplying and erecting a steel building with roof and wall cladding to match existing finishes. On this occasion, a cornflour blue cladding was chosen.
As part of the design, the building had to be suitable for open-fronted construction which didn’t have any diagonal bracing in the open bays. Levels of the site had to be taken to ensure it was being accurately installed in the tight timeframe.
