How to Choose the Right PPGI/PPGL Coil
1. Coating Types

When selecting a primer, consider the adhesion properties. For top coating, prioritize corrosion resistance and color retention.

  • Polyester (PE): Excellent adhesion, commonly used as primer
  • Silicone Modified Polyester (SMP): Good durability
  • High Durability Polyester (HDP): Superior color retention
  • Polyvinylidene Fluoride (PVDF): Exceptional durability with lifespan exceeding 25 years
2. Coating Thickness

Standard painting thickness ranges from 18-22μm, with maximum top paint reaching 55μm. Thicker coatings generally offer better durability.

Selection should be based on usage environment. For example: Dx51d+AZ150 PVDF/HDP 30μm is suitable for marine or chemical factory applications.

3. Base Metal Steel

Common base metals include:

  • Galvanized steel
  • Galvalume steel
  • Al-Zn-Mg steel

Higher zinc content typically results in longer service life, with zinc coating ranging from AZ30g-AZ275g.
