Mild steel DX51D galvanized steel sheet is a type of galvanized steel sheet based on low carbon steel.
Chemical Composition
Its chemical composition mainly includes:
- Carbon (C) content not exceeding 0.07%
- Manganese (Mn) content not exceeding 0.50%
- Phosphorus (P) content not exceeding 0.025%
- Sulfur (S) content not exceeding 0.025%
- Silicon (Si) content not exceeding 0.03%
Physical and Mechanical Properties
The mechanical properties of DX51D galvanized sheet include:
- Yield strength: typically between 270-500 N/mm²
- Tensile strength: generally greater than or equal to 290 N/mm²
- Elongation rate: not less than 26%
Manufacturing Process and Application
DX51D galvanized sheet is manufactured through hot-dip galvanizing process, with a layer of zinc coating on its surface. This process can effectively prevent corrosion of the steel plate surface and extend its service life.
Common thickness specifications range from 0.4mm to 3.20mm, with common thicknesses including 0.5mm, 0.8mm, 1.0mm, 1.2mm, 1.5mm, 2.0mm, etc. The width is generally between 600mm and 1250mm, and the length can be customized according to needs, with common lengths ranging from 1m to 12m.
When purchasing DX51D galvanized sheet, the choice between hot-dip galvanizing and cold dip galvanizing is also important. Hot dip galvanizing is a chemical reaction, while cold dip galvanizing is a physical reaction. Hot dip galvanizing has a better anti-corrosion effect.
