DX51D Z100 Regular/Zero Spangle Hot Dipped Galvanized Steel Plate Coil

Galvanizing provides one of the most effective and economical methods for protecting bare steel from corrosive environments. Zinc acts as both a barrier between steel and the environment and sacrificially protects the underlying steel plate. When two different metals contact each other in the presence of water and oxygen, sacrificial protection occurs, with zinc preferentially corroding to protect the iron in steel. This protection prevents corrosion in areas not directly covered by zinc and minimizes corrosion diffusion from cut edges, drilled holes, and other exposed areas.

Factors Affecting Zinc Flower Size

When zinc liquid composition supports zinc flower formation, the following factors influence their size:

Raw Material: Thicker steel plates with smoother surface roughness produce larger zinc flowers
Cooling Rate: Faster cooling rates shorten crystal growth time, resulting in smaller zinc flowers
Crystal Nuclei Count: Zinc flower size correlates with crystal nuclei quantity - rougher or less clean steel surfaces produce smaller zinc flowers with more nucleation sites
Other Factors: Production environment and additional process variables
