What Is Galvalume Steel?

Galvalume steel, also known as Aluminum-Zinc Alloy Coated Steel, Zincalume steel, or aluminized zinc steel (aluzinc steel), is composed of 55% aluminium, 43.4% zinc and 1.6% silicon solidified at 600°C. Its structure consists of aluminium-iron-silicon-zinc, forming a compact quaternary crystal alloy. The surface is characterized by smooth, flat appearance with a silver white base color.

The special coating structure provides excellent corrosion resistance with a normal service life of up to 25 years. It offers good heat resistance for environments up to 315°C, excellent paint adhesion, and superior processing performance for punching, shearing, and welding applications. The surface conductivity is very good.

  • Super Corrosion Resistance: Layer added Al, Mg and Si alloy elements greatly improve corrosion inhibition. Compared with ordinary galvanized products, less coating adhesion achieves better corrosion resistance - 10-20 times that of hot dip galvanized steel plate.
  • Self Healing: Coating component around cutting surface continuously dissolves to form dense protective film composed mainly of zinc hydroxide, alkaline zinc chloride and magnesium hydroxide. This protective film has low conductivity and inhibiting effect on corrosion of cutting surface.
  • Long Life Span: Due to super corrosion resistance and cutting section self-healing effect, service life of components can exceed 30 years in general applications.
  • Easy to Process: Coating is more dense than galvanized sheet, preventing coating peeling during stamping. Excellent tensile, stamping, bending, welding and other processing properties under severe conditions with high hardness coating for superior damage resistance.
Packaging and Shipping

3 layers of packing: inside is kraft paper, water plastic film in the middle, and outside GI steel sheet covered by steel strips with lock, with inner coil sleeve.

Product packaging can be customized according to customer requirements and factory standards.
