42CrMoS4 heat treatment method:

1. Quenching: quickly put the 42CrMoS4 heated to a suitable temperature (such as 850-880 degrees Celsius) into the quenching medium (such as water, oil or air) to cool it quickly. Rapid cooling during the quenching process can achieve high hardness and high strength material structure.

2. Tempering: Quenched 42CrMoS4 can be too brittle, so tempering is required to eliminate internal stress and improve toughness. The temperature and time of tempering should be controlled according to specific requirements, usually in a medium temperature range (such as 300-600 degrees Celsius). Tempering reduces hardness but increases plasticity and toughness.

3. Normalizing: Normalizing, also called annealing, is a heat treatment process performed before quenching. Heat 42CrMoS4 to a suitable temperature (such as 850-880 degrees Celsius), then maintain it for a period of time, and finally cool it at an appropriate rate.
