Structural steels for hulls are divided into ordinary thickness and high-strength steels. General strength steels are divided into four grades according to their mass: A, B, C and D;High strength steel is divided into two strength grades and three quality grades;AH32, DH32, EH32, AH36, DH36, EH36.
According to the standards of China Classification Society, general strength structural steels are divided into four quality grades :A, B, D and E (namely CCSA, CCSB, CCSC and CCSD);The high strength structural steels as specified by China Classification Society are divided into three strength grades and four quality grades.

Chemical composition: carbon (C) 0.18 or less manganese (Mn) 0.90 ~ 1.60 aluminum (Al) 0.015 or higher silicon (Si), phosphorus (P) of 0.10 ~ 0.50 0.04 or less sulfur (S) of 0.04 or less yield strength sigma S (MPa) 315

The following material properties are ASTM A131 specifications as required by ABS and will be confirmed on the Mill Test Report. Elongation is dependent on plate thickness, but is listed in a range below.
