2. Consider the use environment and temperature requirements
When choosing A106 seamless steel pipe, we need to consider what kind of environment it will be used in and the temperature range it needs to withstand. Since seamless A106 carbon steel pipe has good high temperature resistance, it is better used in high temperature environments. The testing requirements for seamless A106 carbon steel pipes include hydrostatic testing and mechanical testing. Hydrostatic testing is performed to check whether the stress developed in the pipe wall under the test pressure is equal to 60% of the specified minimum yield strength (SMYS) at room temperature. There are different limits on the maximum pressure for different pipe diameters, for example, the maximum pressure must not exceed 2500 psi for NPS 3 and below, and the maximum pressure must not exceed 2800 psi for larger sizes. The pressure holding time is not less than 5 seconds.
